Mummy's Little Pumpkin

Chris showed me how to carve a pumpkin tonight. It was my first one...fun, but messy. He did most of it including the cool face design.

7 Weeks Old

Alex loves playing, swinging while watching Baby Einstein or Baby Faith, and tummy time. She is holding her head up so well during tummy time and while we hold her up to burp. She gets more alert with each passing week. We are adjusting to her everchanging self as she grows up. And yes, she is growing fast. At 7 weeks old, she weighs 10 lbs 11 oz. That is 4 pounds more than her birth weight (6 lb. 10 oz). She's a joy!

6 Weeks Old

Yes, our precious munchkin is growing fast. However, I think the pics on the blog make her look bigger. mmm...or maybe we need a better digital camera or just a better picture taker. :)

Pumpkin Patch

Chris' parents came to town this past weekend and we took Alex to the Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful day with lots of kids enjoying the plethora of pumpkins. We bought a big pumpkin to carve and 2 small sweet ones. I am going to attempt to make my first pumpkin pie with one of them. As you can see, we had the cutest punkin of all the pumpkins! :)

Big Cedar Lodge

We took Alex on her first road trip to Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, Missouri. Chris had a conference there, so we all loaded up and went. Alex did great in the car.
Pic 2: Munchkin needed the hat as we were on our way to an outdoor cookout one cool night.

Pic 6: View from our balcony

Pic 8: Jeff and Chrissa Hickle, friends who recently moved from Little Rock to Fayetteville, came to visit us at Big Cedar our last day. It was great to visit with them again.

You know you are a new mommy when...

* milk accompanies most every thing you wear.
* you think your baby's breastmilk poo smells sweet.
* your baby has an explosion that goes up her back, through her clothes and on your hands leaving you a mess to clean. By the way, spit up could be coming out the other end and dripping on your shoulder. (that all happened for the first time today)
* you are still in your pjs at 4pm some days.
* sleeping 8 hours straight is a memory.
* you are shocked to hear/see your beautiful, sweet baby girl burp like an old man.
* you love your precious baby more than you could ever imagine.

Amidst the interrupted sleep, feedings, milk everywhere, diaper changes, burps, cries, high learning curve, etc, are Alex's smiles, snuggles under my chin, beautiful eyes staring at me, fingers wrapped around mine, sweet baby smell, soft long hair, cute self in anything she wears, etc. Alex is a blessed gift that God has given us to nurture, love, care for and raise for Him. What a challenge and blessing! So thankful!

First Birthday Party

Alex went to her first birthday party today. We celebrated Reagan turning one year old. Alex seems to already "look up" to her. We had a great time with lots of good friends and good food.

Funny Faces

Gotta love these faces...

Our 3 Week Old Sweetheart

Alex and I have gone for an outing almost every day rather it is for a walk in the neighborhood or to the store with someone, etc. Today was my first day to take Alex by myself to the store for our outing. We had a good time checking out the new shopping plaza by our house.

Combining equipment

We put Alex's papasan seat in her activity gym to maximize the use of the gym right now. The seat lifts her up and stabilizes her to look at the lights and dangly things. She enjoys it with the music going as well, but only for a bit...then she goes to sleep or cries to get up.

Meals on Wheels

Rebecca Townsend is one of the many thoughtful people who have brought us meals since Alex was born. We are thankful for everyone's generosity as it has been so helpful for us as we adjust to our precious newborn. Thanks everyone!!!
