Visits, Party, Shoes, and Playground

Mimi and Grandaddy came to visit this weekend. Alex thoroughly enjoyed her visit with them as she got quadruple the attention. Notice Alex lifting her right foot while Mimi reads to her above. They showed her how to feel the various textures on the pages with her feet. She loves it!
Alex loved playing with Grandaddy. She was crawling all over him while he tried to pack. Then, she quickly played the "trust" game with him and kept falling back into his hands.

(scene from Gone With the Wind was filmed here)
Alex went to Caroline's 2nd birthday party this past Saturday. The Elmo theme was so cute in which Elizabeth made an incredible Elmo cake. Above is a pic of the kiddos with the birthday girl in the middle with her daddy behind the Elmo stuffed animal.
Alex looks like such a big girl sitting at the kid table eating at the party.
Having fun at Caroline's birthday party

Can we say "all girl" or "shoe fettish?" We bought Alex a pair of shoes that fit (she has a tiny foot for her age - size 3.5) a couple of weekends ago now that Alex is walking. She now loves to wear or carry her shoes and even try ours out. She often pulls down and "tries on" my shoes in my closet while I get ready. Well, as I was showing her the shoes that she outgrew, she insisted that she wear one pair. So, I squeezed her foot in the cute size 2 daisy flip flops like Cinderella's step sisters forced their foot in the glass slipper. Well, Alex's foot fit, but the shoe was sooooo tight. She didn't care as she was showing me her girly side of going for looks over comfort. I couldn't handle watching her walk in them anymore after just a few minutes. Below is the pic of how tight the shoe fit. Can you see the indentions?

Alex playing with Taryn and Andrew at the neighborhood playground. Jessica was throwing the ball which they LOVED to play with. Swinging at the park has become another one of Alex's favorite activities. Yes, that is a gumball in her hand below that she appropriately called ba'all. (Thanks, Kim, for the Aussie shirt)
